Adam Edward Ksiazek

August 30, 1931 — May 17, 2020

Adam Edward Ksiazek, 88, passed away May 17, 2020 at home surrounded by the love and support of his wife Margaret “Markie” Ksiazek, daughter Nancy Ksiazek and dear friend Chris McNamara.

He was the youngest of 3 siblings born August 30, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Josephine and Adam Ksiazek. Adam graduated from Pullman Technical High School in Chicago, Illinois then enrolled in Wisconsin State College and was drafted in 1953 to serve in the United States Army Intelligence Corps during the Korean War as an aerial photographer. Upon discharge in 1955 he transferred to the University of Illinois and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering in 1956. He then worked at US Steel followed by Gary Sheet and Tin Mill in Gary, Indiana.

In 1958 Adam married his sweetheart of 6 years, Markie Lacy. He took pride in raising a family while also attending the University of Chicago, and in 1965 he received his master’s degree in Business. Over the course of his career he was Production Manager for Avon Products, Vice President of Operations for Duveen Soap Company, Plant Manager for Black Prince Distillery and manager of Production as well as the box, glass and plastics plants at Tropicana until his retirement in 1990. The positions took him and his family to Allendale, New Jersey and eventually to Holmes Beach, Florida where he lived for 42 years.

Adam belonged to St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and the Key Royale Club. In addition to playing bridge, golfing, boating and cheering on his Cubs and Bears he especially enjoyed volunteering in the Junior Achievement Program at Anna Maria Elementary School and his 15 years of dedicated service with the DeSoto National Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Markie Ksiazek of Holmes Beach, Florida, daughter and son-in-law Anne and Steve Phillips of Vancouver, Washington, daughter Nancy Ksiazek (Chris McNamara) of Bradenton, Florida, nieces/nephews Joan Fry (Pat, Zack, Hannah) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Barbara Wittmer (Mike), Debra Voliva (Ed), Laura Anderson (Tim) and RJ Klodnicki (Emily) all of Bradenton, Florida.

A funeral mass at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church will be scheduled in the future. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
