Dan Allyn Mustaine

Dan Allyn Mustaine was born to Lily Mae and Harold Mustaine on August 5, 1938, in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Dan served in the Air Force Band (1956-1960) where he traveled and shared his love of music. After being honorably discharged he continued his service as a police officer in Fairfax County, rising to the rank of Captain before retiring in 1980. Dan then joined the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, retiring in 2000. Dan never missed one of his kid’s sporting events, and always carried photos of his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments. Dan passed away surrounded by his wife and kids on March 14, 2022. Dan is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Dorothy Mae Perry. Dan is survived by his wife of 47 years Zan Mustaine, their two children Chris (Brigit) Mustaine and Trista (Justin) Miller, and three grandchildren, MaryCate (13), Maggie (11), and Harris (4). A memorial service will be held at Palma Sola Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 19th, at 3:00 pm. Donations to Palma Sola Presbyterian Church are requested in lieu of flowers.
