Gayle Young passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, in Bradenton, FL.

She is survived by her husband Lonnie, Parrish, FL, a son, Todd (Stacy), O’Fallon, IL, a sister, Lois Flood, El Praire, MN, and a brother, Kenneth (Mary Lou) Watkins, Midway, KY, a sister-in-law, JoAnn Watkins, Frankfort, KY, two grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gayle was born in Lexington, KY, attended Franklin County High School, Morehead State University and University of Kentucky. See spent most of her adult life in the Cincinnati area where she met her husband Lonnie and raised her son Todd. She was active in her church and enjoyed camping with friends. After retiring from a career in accounting she and Lonnie spent many winters in Florida before moving there full time several years ago.

Gayle never met a stranger and found friends everywhere she went.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Laura Wiley Watkins, 2 brothers, Elwood Watkins, Mesa, Arizona, and Oakley Watkins, Frankfort, KY, and 2 sisters, Martell Watkins Allender, Lexington, KY and Mary Lawrence Watkins, Frankfort, KY.

A memorial service will be held, Friday, April 2, at 11:00am at Parrish United Methodist Church, Parrish, FL.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
