Joseph Faraguna

Joseph Faraguna passed away on December 23, 2023 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. He was in the company of his loving family.


Joe was born on November 1, 1934, in New York, N.Y. He grew up in Astoria, Queens, playing stick ball on the streets of New York with Whitey Ford and developing a great love for the music of Frank Sinatra.


Joe worked as a mechanic for Ford Motor Company in New Jersey and later for the Rocky Point Fire Department on Long Island.

In 1980, Joe met and married Maureen. In 1988 Joe and Maureen moved to San Diego, California. Joe began working as a mechanic for the San County Sheriff’s Department. While living in San Diego, Joe became a Mason and a Shriner, and was a lifetime member of San Diego Masonic Lodge #35 and the Scottish Rite of San Diego.

Joe had a great love for the game of baseball and later in his life, enjoyed playing pool with his buddies, who referred to him as “Shamokin Joe.”


Joe is survived by his wife Maureen and many other members of his loving family, including Steven, Delanie, Easton, John, Dominic. Joe was also blessed to have amazing friends. We will forever hold his love in our hearts and he will be missed by all.
