Alfred L. Hill

Alfred Lee Hill, Sr., age 87, died in Bradenton, Florida on Friday, April 10, 2026. He was born on December 18, 1938 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, to the late Russell Elwood Hill, Sr. and Marina Burrus Hill.

Alfred graduated from Elizabeth City High School as Salutatorian of his class. He was a member of the Key Club and the National Honor Society and a proud Yellow Jacket. He then went on to further his education at North Carolina State University, graduating with honors and receiving a degree as a mechanical engineer. His career of approximately 53 years included many states, from Virginia, south, until he retired in Florida.

 Alfred met his wife to be while both were on vacation in Nags Head, NC. After marrying Gloria Dean of Pennsylvania, they had three children; Christopher Dean Hill and wife, Sherry of Bradenton, Florida, Amber Dean Hill and Sarah Dean Hill, both of Albany, New York. He is also survived by a brother, Carroll Wayne Hill of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Alfred also leaves behind many nieces and nephews; two stepchildren; and four step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Russell Elwood Hill, Jr.

There will be no formal service at his request. His remains will be scattered in the water of the Gulf of America. Alfred especially loved the beaches of the oceans and the gulf.
