Darlena Moore

November 30, 1943 — February 2, 2026

Darlena Moore was born November 30, 1943, in Taft, California, and passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, surrounded by love and her devoted daughter, Lorraine Britt.

She grew up in Kern County, the daughter of Alma Jean Webb and George Franklin Post. Throughout her life, Darlena was shaped by resilience, faith, and a deep love for her family. She was the mother of six children. From her first marriage to Doug Smith, she had Shirley and Bryan. From her second marriage to Jack Moore, she had Lorraine, Carol, and Sharon. She later welcomed her youngest son, Jesse Corona, who preceded her in death.

Darlena was funny, stubborn, and full of personality. She could be strong-willed, but her love was steady and unconditional. She stood firmly behind the people she loved and was a light in their lives. She enjoyed playing Scramble, watching Naked and Afraid and The Price Is Right, and spending time with her family. One of her favorite sayings was, “Pray about it.” She believed deeply in God and the power of prayer, and that faith carried her through life.

We take comfort in knowing she is reunited in heaven with her son Jesse and her mother, whom she loved dearly. Darlena leaves behind children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many loved ones who will carry her memory forward. She was well loved, and her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.

A memorial service will be held on the 21st at 2:00 PM at Shannon Funeral Homes in Bradenton.
