Dorothy K. Wilhelm

Cranberry TWP

Dorothy “Dottie” K. Wilhelm, age 97, of Cranberry Township, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born May 8, 1928, in Aliquippa to the late Joseph and Margaret Hildebrand Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wilhelm, six brothers and six sisters. She was blessed with a long life and a precious bond with family and friends.

Her memory will be cherished by her children, Jayne Nesbit Bittner (Greg King), Thomas (Kathy) Nesbit, Michele (Warren) Marweg and her precious grandchildren, Jesse Marweg, Justin Nesbit, Matthew (Kayla) Nesbit, Jenna Marweg (Scott Miller), Tyler Marweg and Kristine Nesbit. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law Evelyn Williams, numerous nieces and nephews and beloved family, Sandra (Don) Shreves, Jennifer Free, Jamie (Leigh Ann & Bentley) Free.

Dottie raised her children in Economy Boro and was a devout Catholic attending Our Lady of Peace Church. After marrying Howard in 1988, she moved to Aliquippa and faithfully attended St. Titus Church.

In earlier years, she enjoyed taking her children camping, and it was always a family affair with her siblings and their families. If not camping, there were many Sunday family volleyball games. For almost 40 years, she enjoyed an annual trip to Las Vegas with her sisters and sister-in-law, where she and her sister Terry would celebrate their shared birthday. It became a large family reunion as children and grandchildren joined in the fun.

Dottie loved sports and was a Steelers, Notre Dame, Penguins and Pirates fan. During the hockey games, when the goalie was pulled, she referred to it as an empty “nest.” and during baseball games, she always sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” and would also sing along with the “Star Spangled Banner.” To whomever had a birthday she loved singing Happy Birthday, and for some, she added “The Old Gray Mare.” She also enjoyed watching “her” cardinals on the birdfeeder.

She and Howard spent time traveling, camping and fishing and they made numerous friends from all over. To Dottie, family were friends and friends were family.

Two days a week after moving to Cranberry, she was fondly cared for by Jenna and dedicated neighbor, Donna Giustini.

Now that she is in the arms of Jesus, she can finally “calm down and relax.”

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Saints John & Paul, Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, 2586 Wexford Bayne Road, Sewickley, Pennsylvania 15143, and a memorial luncheon afterwards.
