Gladys Salinas

September 17, 1934 — April 18, 2025

Ellenton

Gladys Salinas, a cherished soul whose warmth and care enveloped all who crossed her path, passed away peacefully at her home in Ellenton, Florida, on April 18, 2025. Born on September 17, 1933, in the quaint town of Santa Clara, Cuba.

Our beloved Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend was first and foremost faithful to our loving Heavenly Father Jehovah. She was a faithful Jehovah's Witness for over 52 years, serving many of those years as a Pioneer. Her true joy came in sharing her faith with all who would listen and giving them a hope for the future. Gladys’s unwavering devotion to Jehovah and her genuine desire to help others find peace and hope were central to the way she lived her life.

As a boutique seamstress in New York, Gladys poured her creativity and passion into each garment she crafted, infusing her designs with the love and dedication that mirrored her nurturing personality. Her remarkable ability to transform fabric into breathtaking creations was admired not only for its artistry but also for the care she took in understanding the desires and dreams of her clientele. A true fashionista throughout her life, Gladys was years ahead of her time, always setting trends with her impeccable style and eye for design.

Gladys's life was a testament to the beauty found in simplicity and the power of human connection. Her faith, warmth, and generosity made her a friend to many, but it was her family who experienced the deepest outpouring of her love. She is survived by her beloved husband, Martin Salinas, whose companionship brought her great joy; her daughter, Julie Rossil (and son-in-law Marco Rossil), her son, Samuel Valdivia (and daughter-in-law Carolina Valdivia), her daughter, Tamara Weimer (and son-in-law Jacob Weimer), and her grandchildren, Debbie, Ashley, Mark, Ariella, and Izzy—each of whom she loved and cherished deeply. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren, Arianna, Mark Jr., Malani, and Novalie, who brought immense joy to her life and will carry on her memory with love and gratitude. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters, Luisa Starace, Ana Gonzalez, brother, Juan Gonzalez and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Viewing will be held to celebrate her life on May 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shannon Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Bradenton, Florida.
