Herbert Wayne Carlton, a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on May 20, 2026, at the age of 51, surrounded by the love of his family and friends at the family’s ranch.
Born on November 25, 1974, in the warm embrace of Lakeland, Florida, Herbert was a beacon of kindness and a man who embodied the values of dedication and love for both people and the land. The beloved son of Roy and Linda Carlton, Herbert was raised with strong family values and a commitment to serving others in his community.
He graduated from Lakeland Christian High School (1993), where he began to cultivate his strong work ethic that would help define his life. Pursuing his passion for mechanics, Herbert continued his education at Travis Technical Center (College) earning a Master ASE Mechanic certification in 1996.
Herbert dedicated 25 years of his life to Walt Disney World, where he worked as a Transportation and Maintenance Technician. Known for his extraordinary ability to fix anything, Herbert (Herb) was not just a skilled technician but a friend to many, always ready with a helping hand and a warm smile. Colleagues remember him as a man who could bring a sense of calm to any situation, and his work will continue to touch the lives of many.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Herb maintained the family ranch, tending to the land and livestock with a deep respect for nature and tradition. His gentle hands and nurturing spirit were evident in every corner of the ranch, where he spent countless hours fostering life and cultivating the land. Whether it was mending fences or caring for animals, Herb’s dedication to the ranch was an emblem of his character.
Herbert was married to the love of his life, Amy L. Carlton, for 23 beautiful years. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership, filled with shared dreams and unwavering support. Together, they built a life enriched by love, laughter, and cherished memories. Herbert’s mother, Linda Carlton, and his sister, Karen L. Carlton (Scott), remain to cherish his memory, their hearts filled with the legacy of his kindness and generosity.
Herbert was predeceased by his father, (Alfred) Roy Carlton, whose influence and teachings were evident in Herbert’s every action. Their bond was a source of strength for Herb, guiding him through life with wisdom and grace.
As we remember Herbert Wayne Carlton, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love, a man who touched countless lives with his generosity and unassuming kindness. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a profound sense of community.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date to honor Herb’s life and the indelible mark he left on all who knew him. Herbert’s presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were privileged to know and love him. Rest in peace, dear Herbert, knowing you have left this world a better place.
