James R. Gilhooly

James R. "Jimmy" Gilhooly passed away peacefully in hospice care on August 12, 2026, in Bradenton, Florida. He was born on January 14, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois.

Jimmy will be remembered with love by his family and friends. He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Paraday, Marijo Takach (Tom), and Terry Strezo; his nieces, Tara Wegner and Christy Michau (Mark); and other relatives and friends whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Gilhooly and Therese Galvin (née Carney), and by his brother, Edward Gilhooly.

A Graveside Service with military honors was held on September 10, 2026, at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida. 9810 Florida 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
