James G. Schrock Jr

James “Jimmy” Glynn Schrock passed away on August 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 20, 1945, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to James and Mary Lou (Forester) Schrock, Jimmy lived a life defined by courage, strength, and perseverance. He took pride in his rural upbringing beginning on Lookout Mountain and later in Rome, Ga.

James proudly dedicated 20 years of his life to serving in the United States Air Force while eventually retiring in Tampa, Florida. He endured medical complications with remarkable strength and perseverance. Through every challenge, James remained a devoted father, son, and brother and remained actively engaged in the lives of those he loved.

From an early age, James had a love for math and electronics. He had a natural curiosity for how things worked and took great pleasure in creating and repairing things with his hands. He enjoyed building speakers and working with anything electronic. He also loved country music, which brought him great enjoyment throughout his life.

James leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his brother, Edward “Eddie”; his children, Paul and Janie; and his grandchildren, Jordan, Kristin, Ben, Aubrey, Colin, and Eli. He is also remembered by many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Caroline, and his brother, Larry.James will be remembered for his strength and perseverance, his unwavering devotion to his family, and the love he had for those closest to him. His memory will live on through his children and grandchildren and in the many lives he touched throughout his life. He will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered.
