He was born to George and Lawanna Pope in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Jerry was a graduate of Ware Shoals High School and Piedmont Tech.

He is survived by his 2 sons; Jayzin Pope and Zachary Pope, 1 brother; Kevin Gerald Pope, and his parents.
