John Barnum “Jack” Beausang, 80, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

Born on February 28, 1945, in Penn Wynne, Pennsylvania, Jack was the son of Elizabeth Barnum Beausang and Frank Beausang. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Francis Beausang, and is survived by his sister, Dorothy Tague of Philadelphia.

He served in the National Guard in Philadelphia.

Jack graduated from Lower Merion High School and attended Villanova University and Penn State University as an Engineer major. He began his career as a specialist on the trading floor of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and went on to work for several major firms before opening his own company, Beausang & Co.

A pioneer in the early days of the Internet, Jack became a consultant to major financial institutions, including the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, where he created the architecture and arranged for the design of their internet site making the PHLX the first Stock Exchange to have a presence on the Internet. In 1995, he launched www.stocks.com, a financial resource guide that grew to national recognition and received numerous industry honors including Top 100 in finance.

In 2001, Jack relocated to Sarasota, Florida, where he continued his career as a bond salesman before becoming a real estate agent and broker. His extensive financial and technological background, combined with his deep knowledge of the Sarasota area, allowed him to expertly guide buyers and sellers through the real estate process.

Jack had a lifelong love of golf, which he shared with his beloved wife, Susan (De Luccia) Beausang. Together, they enjoyed many years on the course and proudly won five husband-and- wife championships at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, where they were members for over 30 years.

All who knew Jack knew him to be generous with his time and deeply loving. He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and helped many people in the Sarasota area, offering guidance, support, and friendship to those on their own journeys.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (De Luccia) Beausang; his sons, John B. Beausang Jr. (Amy), Alexander Beausang (Ellen), and Sean-Paul Beausang; his stepsons, Drew M. Gontram (Arianna) and Seth M. Beausang (Andi); and his eight cherished grandchildren: Stella, Reese, Isabella, Brady, Brooks, Mackey, Arthur John, and Cyrus. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
