Joseph Andrew McQuillen

January 4, 1992 — August 13, 2025

BRADENTON

Joseph “Joey” McQuillen arrived at the pearly gates on August 13, 2025, where he was met with open arms by loved ones who passed before him—or perhaps he’s already attempting to take over the afterlife, armed with his signature mischief, charm, and laughter.

If you hear rumors of heaven suddenly hosting late-night skateparks, questionable karaoke nights, an unusual demand for yoga bounce balls, or Nerf gun battles breaking out in the clouds, you can be certain Joey is behind it. His spirit, much like his humor, was larger than life and will continue to echo in every smile, laugh, and story shared by those lucky enough to have known him.

You could often find Joey spending time with family and friends playing with the kids or watching funny videos. Being a kid at heart made him extremely loved by children of all ages and he would do anything to ensure the happiness of his own daughters, whom he loved and adored more than life itself.

Joey’s spirit will forever fill our hearts with love and humor. Whether it was throwing up the “shocker” or quoting the most random forgotten songs of our adolescence, he never let a day pass without making sure he acquired a good laugh from loved ones. He was and forever will be our clown who mastered the art of juggling, flying under water (don’t ask), skateboarding and any sport thrown his way.

Although his time spent on this earth was shorter than expected the memories, he left us with are enough to enlighten us for the rest of our time here until we are together once more.

Joey is survived by his three daughters; Jadyn, Jordyn & Lula McQuillen, mom; Dianne Tobia McQuillen, siblings Kara & Keith McQuillen, paternal grandparents; Lula & J. Thomas McQuillen II, maternal grandfather; William Tobia Jr. and many close family and friends that will miss, cherish & love the memories we hold dear to our hearts. Joey is preceded in death by his father; J. Thomas McQuillen III, and maternal grandmother; Grace May Tobia (LaStella)
