Joseph E. Staigerwald, a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on July 3, 2025, in Waverly, Tennessee. He was born on March 18, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland, where he spent his early years before embarking on a life filled with hard work and dedication.
Joseph built a successful career as a plumber, pipefitter, and welder, demonstrating exceptional skill in his trade. His contributions were invaluable, and he took great pride in his work, always striving for excellence in every project he undertook. Additionally, he served honorably in the U.S. Army, a testament to his commitment to serving his country. Who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity that guided him throughout his life.
Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife of many years, Eleanor "Polly" Staigerwald, his Parents Joseph Staigerwald and Catherine Dunaway twin brothers John Dunaway and Jeff Dunaway and sister Kathaleen Yinger .
He leaves behind a loving family who will always cherish his memory. His son, Robert and wife (Yolanda) Staigerwald, his daughter Tammy and husband Joe Huey, His brother, Charles "Buddy" and wife (Laurella) Staigerwald, and His sister, Bernadette Dunaway Cook. And many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews. He will be greatly missed. He will always be remembered for his loving jokes and sarcasm.
He was the proud grandfather to six grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service, with Military Honors, honoring Joseph's life will be held on July 17, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM at Shannon Funeral Homes in Bradenton, Florida.
