Laurette Shahinian

Laurie Shahinian, passed away on December 11, 2015, after a long battle with cancer.

While born in Connecticut, she moved to Florida at a young age and has been a long time resident of Anna Maria Island.

She was a graduate of Eckerd College and Barry University's School of Law, as well as a proprietor of family owned businesses Carpet Corner and Slim's Restaurant.

She loved cooking and baking, and had a big heart for animals.

She is survived by her husband Richard; three daughters Talia Maggi, Sandy Shahinian and Jackie Shahinian; and beloved dog Slim.

Services will be held Wednesday, December 16, 10:30 am at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Holmes Beach.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions be made to Roser Food Pantry in her memory.
