Martha Lee Schumaker, passed away on February 8, 2026, just shy of her 92nd birthday. Born on February 22, 1934, Martha dedicated her life to teaching, inspiring countless students during her tenure as a Home Economics teacher at Manatee High School in Bradenton, Florida. Her commitment to education began with a Bachelor's Degree from Concord College in Athens, West Virginia, followed by a Master’s Degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.
Martha had a vibrant passion for life that extended beyond the classroom. She was known for her love of travel and her enthusiasm for car shows, often seen exploring new places and sharing her interest in automobiles with friends and family. Martha’s legacy is carried on by her loving companion of over 30 years, Randy Wilson, who stood by her side through thick and thin. She is survived by her two children, Larry Schumaker (Darlene) and Vicki Schumaker Hix, who have fond memories of their mother and the values she instilled in them.
