Mary Ellen Pickering

Mary Ellen Pickering,  passed away on December 24, 2025, in her 98th year. Born on May 4, 1928, in Joplin, Missouri, Mary Ellen lived a life filled with love, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that colored her world.

With a bachelor’s degree in hand, Mary Ellen embraced a lifelong journey of learning, passion, and discovery. Her education fueled her adventurous spirit and unwavering curiosity, laying the foundation for a life of meaningful connections and memorable experiences.

A woman of many talents, Mary Ellen found immense joy in sewing, where her creative hands brought warmth to countless projects, each stitched piece a testament to her love for family and friends. She often spent hours solving crossword puzzles, a pastime that kept her sharp and alert well into her later years. Mary Ellen also loved to unwind with a variation of arts and crafts that she could share with her family.

Mary Ellen's legacy is beautifully woven through her family. She is survived by her son, Kevin Pickering, and his wife, Elaine; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Each of them carries forward her love and wisdom, holding dearly to the lessons learned and the laughter shared throughout the years.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her Father Austin Pickering, and brother, Alfred Stewart, whose presence she cherished dearly. Though his absence leaves a profound silence, she drew strength from their memories and the bond they shared.
