Richard Paul Granberg, Jr. April 15, 1957 – December 1, 2025

Richard “Rick” Paul Granberg, Jr., 68, passed away on December 1, 2025. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Carole Ann Granberg and the late Richard Paul Granberg, Sr., Rick lived a life full of passion, music, and laughter.

Rick began his career as a radio disc jockey in Cambridge, Minnesota where he shared his love of music with listeners while charming them with his magnetic personality, or as he would call it, “The Granberg Curse.” He later moved to Panama City, Florida, where he worked for several radio stations specializing in genres such as country, oldies, and top 40. It was there he met Sharon Lare, who would become his wife and lifelong partner. In 1987, Rick and Sharon settled in Bradenton, Florida, where he continued his radio career at local stations.

In 1993, Rick and Sharon welcomed their daughter, Katie, who inherited her father’s love of music. Introducing her to his favorite music and watching her develop a shared passion was one of Rick’s greatest joys.

Later, Rick joined Water Boy, Inc., delivering bottled water throughout the area. He could always be counted on to make a customer’s day with a joke or playful conversation. Rick was able to connect with any and everyone, never viewing people as strangers but as new friends.

Beyond work, Rick’s life was an adventure. He was always counting down the days until his next trip to Vegas, his next cruise, or train ride. Rick made sure to enjoy life, whether it was with a margarita or a royal flush (or both). It was a joy to experience these moments through his eyes, often lighting up the room with his stories. Stories that will now be remembered by all who loved him but never retold quite as well.

Rick is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sharon; daughter Katie Ann Granberg; son Jonathan “Ricky” Taylor; grandson Ryder Taylor; Mother Carole Ann Granberg; sister Cindy Brown (John); brother Michael Granberg (Gloria); niece Sara; nephew Ryan Brown (Daryn); nephew Trevor Granberg (Hayley); and many cousins and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Paul Granberg, Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Minnesota (details TBA), where family and friends will gather to honor Rick’s memory and the joy he brought to so many.
