Rita Schappacher, gracefully departed from this world on February 16, 2026, at the serene surroundings of hospice in Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.
She was born in Ohio and moved to Florida in 1981.
Her love for family was the cornerstone of her existence. She leaves behind her beloved son, Steve (Debi) of Cincinnati, and three adoring daughters: Lisa (Robert) White, Alice Lakeberg, and Gina (Jeff) Young, all of Bradenton. Rita's legacy is further enriched by the laughter and joy brought into her life by her six beloved grandchildren: Jessica, Anthony, Jonathan, Michelle, Justin, and Dwayne, as well as her twelve great-grandchildren: Maverick, Landon, Trevor, Delaney, Natalie, Baylee, Anna Belle, Ellie, Bryce, Kendall, Nathan, and Tanner.
Rita was married to Raymond Schappacher, who has preceded her in death. Their union was one of profound partnership and mutual respect, and together they fostered an environment suffused with love, faith, and togetherness. Rita’s devotion extended beyond her familial ties; she was a devoted attendee at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, reinforcing her connection to her faith and community.
Rita’s life will be celebrated at her Funeral Service, to take place on February 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, located at 833 Magellan Drive in Sarasota, Florida. Friends and family are invited to gather and pay tribute to a life so richly lived.
