Roger Allen Romesburg, 86, of Somerset, Pennsylvania, went to his heavenly home on December 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-four years, Carol Ann (Sembower) Romesburg, his son Scott Allen Romesburg and Scott’s husband James Carroll of San Francisco, California, and his daughter Debra Ann Romesburg and Debra’s wife Melodee Pebley of Bradenton, Florida.
Roger was predeceased by his parents, Albert Austin Romesburg and Margaret Faye (Ream) Romesburg, and by his brother, Ronald L. Romesburg. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Shirley S. Romesburg, and her daughters Ronda Stracka and her husband James and Beth Romesburg, as well as his brother R. Neil Romesburg, Neil’s wife Lee, and their daughter Laurie. He is also survived by many other loving relatives.
Roger was born in Kingwood, Pennsylvania on April 16, 1939, and graduated from Somerset High School in 1957. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a longtime member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Somerset. He was active in the Rockwood Fire Department, the Rockwood Rotary, the Masonic Lodge of Meyersdale where he earned his thirty-second degree, and the Jaffa Shriners.
He was a devoted husband and father who spent most of his career with the Pennsylvania Game Commission. He took great pride in getting to know local farmers and built friendships wherever he went. Roger loved to tell a good story, enjoyed golf, camping, and keeping his car spotless, and cherished spending winters in Bradenton, Florida. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Somerset at a later date in 2026.
