Zula Mae Williams, age 101, of Bradenton, FL, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026. She was born on August 4, 1924, in Greenville, KY, to the late Elsie Mae Tudor and Robert Marion Tudor. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Robbie Nell (Tudor) Hammock.
Zula moved to Bradenton at a young age and graduated from Bradenton High School (now Manatee High School) in 1942. In 1949, she married Eugene “Gene” E. Williams of Terra Ceia, FL, in Thomas County, GA. Gene preceded her in death on October 4, 1972. Zula was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her four children: Shirley VanZant (Mark) of Woodbury, TN; Peggy Newsome (Wilburn) of Terra Ceia, FL; Edward “Eddie” Williams (Julee) of Terra Ceia, FL; and Cindy Haynes (Dan) of Bradenton, FL. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eighteen great- grandchildren, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
Zula will be remembered for her long life, strong family values, and the love she shared with generations of her family. The family will cherish her memory always.
